Auto loan interest of 18% Help?

chessloser24 asked:

I purchased a car around 12600 (with a 1000 down payment included 1000-13600) with a credit score around 550. Americredit gave me an interest rate of 18%. Five months later my credit score is 646 and Im expecting it to raise around 669 early September (raises 20 to 24 points monthly). My question is should I wait a year to refinance? The car sales man told me that I shouldn’t refinance bad credit. Will applying to get my loan refinance lower my credit score? Will credit lenders prefer a year worth of on time payments on my credit history?. Will changing my creditor lower my credit score?

Legal question about earnest money buying a home?

Megan asked:

My boyfriend and I could not get approved for a loan on a home together so we decided not to go through with buying a home just yet. We put a stop payment on our check for the earnest money because the contract we signed saying we wanted to build a home (not a final paper or anything) had both of our names on it and we told them he had bad credit and they insisted that we put both names on it and if things didnt go thru we would sign again w/o him. So my question is, it has been 4 months and I have not heard from them, are they going to sue me because I cancelled that check? I told the lender, who is contracted thru them that we wanted to back out since we could not both be on it. She told them. I dont want to call them cuz I dont want them calling everyday or try to get me into a house by myself. Thanks for any knowledge.

How fast can I get my husband a credit score now that were buying a house?

Shree P asked:

I have good credit and I thought that since Im married that automatically that my h got the same credit score. So when we went to purchase the rental we are living in the Broker originally said that we would be fine as my h has a good government job hes been at for a few years now and I make about 1000 a month and my credit rating is good.

So now the broker tell us that we had a problem with a lender (shes still trying though with someone else) because there saying my h has no credit. Not bad credit just no credit so she says worse case scenerio is we would have to get a COSIGNER. I freaked.

So how can I get fast credit on his score? He doesnt even show up in the system because he has no credit. If I add him to me will he automaticlaly be the same credit as me? Please help.

How to lower my mortgage payments?

Linda J asked:

I have bad credit so refinancing is N/A. Someone told me they asked their lender if they could make pmts toward interest only, nothing toward principal. Will lenders let you do that. My loan is in it’s 12th year so I do have 1/4 of the pmt. going toward principal. I used to have WAMU, thank GOD they are no longer!!

Credit Score and Mortgage Situation?

Waiting On Charlie Marie..♥ asked:

My husband and I were looking into buying our first home with the intentions of obtaining a FHA loan. However, after doing some research a couple months back, I discovered that my husband had a terrible credit score of 547. The $11,170 student loan that his father was court ordered to pay during the divorce was more than 90 days late on 9 separate occasions. His father never told us that he wasn’t paying this loan, and since he was in charge of it, the only contact information they had was his father’s and his mother’s/his home address (with whom he doesn’t talk to). After talking to a mortgage loan specialist, we realized there would be no one that would approve us for a mortgage even given the circumstance. So some friends of mine graciously said that they will give us a place to stay so we can financially focus our money on working off his student loans. So my first question is, if we put more than $2,000 a month down on his loans, how long would it take before his credit score began to rise? Also, my husband threatened to take him to court for violating the court order where his father then said that he would only be able to get a $5,000 loan out to cover the costs. My second question is if we contacted the US Department of Education/Direct Loan (loan lender) and told them the situation, that we had $5,000 to put down on it, and that we could send a copy of the court order, would they remove most of the bad credit with the loan?
If someone could please give us some answers and insight into what we could do I would so very much appreciate it. This whole situation has put such a strain on our marriage and I don’t know what to do at this point.

Can someone answer from experience please? How do they choose credit score between husband and wife?

Expecting baby #1!!! asked:

I have seen SO many mixed answers on this site and I’d like to hear from either a mortgage lender, or someone who has recently been qualified for a loan. I have a credit score of 650 and my husband is 570. I know his is bad, and mine is fair, but I would like to know how they will decide? I make slightly more money and have seen answers that the primary breadwinner’s score is taken into account. I have also read that they average the 6 scores. Then I have heard that they take the lowest middle score. Which is true? We are trying to qualify for a RD Loan and most of our bad credit is due to student loans. We are paying our loans back and can easily continue to do so while affording mortgage payments as they are not much more than our current rent payments. Any help please? Thank you!

still about PMI, why not shop between lenders?

pb858guy asked:

This is related to my previus question about paying PMI. thanks to the answers is seems like pretty much impossible to get the rid of it with low down payment, if you want a loan. The only thing it really puzzles me is how the free market simply doesn’t work in this case. For example I get an overwhelming amount of calls of companies to finance my home. Since it’s my first home and I don’t have bad credit, and I have some funds to back me up, it’s 100% win for a lender give me money. Simply because there is really no chance I will not make the payment, even if I have no job for over a year. Now why can’t I say: “look here’s the deal, I have 200 loan companies interested in finance my home, so tell them I will take the loan that does not force me to pay PMI” Even if 199 drop, all I need is just one. My only explanation is that even thought it seems they are desperate to make money, they truly aren’t. But still does not explain the overwhelming amount of people calling me.
